Description
The LYYT 230V IP44 LED Rope Light is a 45m reel of continuous clear flexible tubing containing rice-style LEDs spaced at 27.7mm intervals, producing 36 bulbs per metre. The 13mm diameter tube is rated IP44 for splash resistance, making it suitable for covered outdoor installations, garden features, building perimeter lighting, signage backlighting and festive decorations. The rope runs directly from 230V mains via a separate power connector lead (sold separately, product code 153.624UK).
Designed for permanent and semi-permanent installation, the rope can only be cut at marked 1m intervals, so planning the run length before cutting is essential. Up to two 45m reels can be connected end-to-end for a total 90m continuous run. The rope is dimmable when paired with a compatible 230V trailing-edge dimmer, allowing output to be reduced for ambient lighting or low-level pathway marking. The clear tube gives neutral white light without tinting the output.
The UV-resistant PVC casing withstands outdoor exposure without yellowing or becoming brittle over typical UK seasonal temperature swings from -20°C to 80°C. The minimum bending radius of 60mm allows the rope to follow curves, corners and architectural details without kinking the tube or damaging the internal circuitry. At 16.4W per metre, a full 45m reel draws approximately 738W at full brightness. The rated 25,000-hour lifespan equates to approximately three years of continuous use or significantly longer under typical intermittent seasonal use.

Frequently Asked
Can the rope be cut to any length?
No. The rope can only be cut at marked 1m intervals. Cutting between these marks will damage the circuit and prevent that section from working. Plan your run length before cutting to avoid waste.
What connector is needed to power the rope?
The rope requires the LYYT power connector lead, product code 153.624UK, sold separately. This lead connects the cut end of the rope to a standard UK 3-pin plug for mains connection.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The IP44 rating provides splash resistance, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as under eaves, pergolas, or sheltered garden features. It is not submersible and should not be installed where it will be submerged in water or exposed to direct heavy rain.
How many reels can be connected together?
Up to two 45m reels can be connected end-to-end for a total 90m run. Connecting more than two reels exceeds the safe loading for the circuit and power connector.
