Description
The LYYT 12V Blue LED Strip is a 5-metre reel of flexible LED tape with 60 SMD3528 LEDs per metre, emitting a vivid blue light at 30 lumens per metre. The strip operates on 12V DC and consumes 4.8W per metre, drawing 400mA per metre when fully powered. Each LED is spaced 16mm apart and produces a 140° beam angle, giving a broad wash of blue light rather than focused spots.
Designed for vehicle interiors, retail display cabinets, stage backlighting, bar installations and decorative accent lighting, the strip carries an IP65 rating — the epoxy coating protects the LEDs and PCB from dust ingress and water jets, making it suitable for damp environments but not full submersion. The self-adhesive backing bonds to clean, dry surfaces including aluminium profiles, painted metal, plastics and sealed wood. The strip can be cut every 5cm at marked intervals without damaging adjacent LEDs, allowing custom lengths to fit specific installations.
The 10.5mm width and 2.55mm thickness allow the strip to flex around curves and corners with a minimum bend radius of approximately 50mm. At 210g for the full 5-metre reel, the strip is light enough to stay adhered without additional mechanical fixings in most installations. The strip is supplied with connection accessories to simplify wiring to a 12V DC power supply (sold separately). Rated for 50,000 hours of operation, the strip provides long-term use in installations where blue accent or effect lighting is required.

Frequently Asked
What power supply does this strip require?
The strip operates on 12V DC. For the full 5m reel at 4.8W per metre, you need a 12V DC power supply rated for at least 24W (2A). Power supplies are sold separately. If you cut the strip shorter, you can use a proportionally smaller power supply.
Can the strip be used outdoors?
The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor installations such as under eaves, inside gazebos or in vehicle engine bays. It is not rated for full submersion or prolonged exposure to standing water.
Where can the strip be cut?
The strip can be cut every 5cm at marked intervals along its length. Cutting anywhere else will damage the circuit and prevent LEDs beyond the cut from lighting. Each 5cm section contains three LEDs.
How is the strip installed?
Peel the backing from the self-adhesive layer and press the strip onto a clean, dry, degreased surface. For permanent installations or surfaces with poor adhesion, use additional clips or mounting channels to secure the strip mechanically.
