Description
The LYYT 12V LED strip kit provides 5 metres of flexible IP65-rated LED tape with adjustable colour temperature, controlled by an infrared remote. The strip combines 60 SMD3528 LEDs per metre in alternating warm white (3000K) and cool white (6000K) positions, allowing the IR controller to blend between warm, neutral and cool tones. The kit arrives with a UK mains adaptor, an IR controller, connecting cables and the reel of tape pre-assembled and ready to install.
Designed for kitchens, bathrooms, under-cabinet lighting, caravans, and vehicles, the strip operates on low-voltage 12Vdc and carries an IP65 rating from its epoxy silicone coating. This protects the LEDs from dust and water jets, making it suitable for bathrooms (zones 2 and 3) and outdoor applications under cover. The self-adhesive backing allows the strip to be applied directly to clean, dry surfaces, and the tape can be cut at 10cm intervals to fit custom lengths without waste.
Each metre draws 3.6W at 300mA and produces 360 lumens total output when all LEDs are active. The 120° beam angle from the SMD3528 chips provides even wash lighting rather than spotlighting, making the strip suitable for accent lighting, task lighting under worktops, and indirect cove lighting. The remote controller operates on a CR2025 battery (included) and offers pre-set colour temperature modes plus manual dimming.

Frequently Asked
Can this strip be cut to fit a specific length?
Yes. The strip has designated cut points every 10cm (100mm). Cut only at these marked intervals to avoid damaging the circuit. Once cut, the remaining section can be reconnected using additional connectors sold separately.
What is the IP65 rating and where can I use this strip?
IP65 means the strip is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, under kitchen worktops where splashes may occur, and outdoor applications where the strip is sheltered from direct rain.
How do I change the colour temperature?
The IR remote controller allows you to select warm white only, cool white only, or blended modes that mix both LED types for neutral white tones between 3000K and 6000K. The remote also controls dimming and on/off functions.
What power supply is needed if I extend beyond 5 metres?
Each metre draws 3.6W at 12Vdc. For runs longer than 5m (total 18W), you will need a higher-rated 12V power supply and potentially a separate run to avoid voltage drop. The included UK adaptor is rated for the 5m kit as supplied.
