Description

A row of glass loops sits along a slim rectangular chrome frame, each loop cradling a capsule lamp behind frosted and clear glass. At 65cm across, this is a long, low fitting rather than a tall one, and the polished chrome picks up whatever daylight the room has. The telescopic stem lets you set the drop, from tucked up close to the ceiling to a longer hang, so one fitting covers a low room and a generous one equally well. Frosted glass softens the output, so the small lamps read as one broad band of light rather than a row of bright points.

We would reach for this over a dining table where a pendant would hang too low and block the view across it, and it does the same job over a kitchen island or along a wide hallway. Six lamps spread out over that length give a room plenty of ambient light. Each takes a G9 capsule of up to 33W, though we would fit LEDs and keep the running cost down. Dimming is possible, provided the lamps you choose are dimmable and there is a suitable dimmer on the circuit.

The frame and stem are polished chrome throughout, with frosted and clear glass shades. A dry cloth over the metal keeps the shine; skip abrasive creams and metal polishes, which will dull it. Give the glass an occasional wipe once the lamps have gone cold. It is intended for dry rooms indoors and carries a one year warranty. We stock the Loop range more widely: flush fittings with fewer lamps, a longer rectangular telescopic version, and matching table and wall lamps in polished chrome. Lamps are not included.

The telescopic stem gives a drop of between 420mm and 650mm, so you can keep it tight to the ceiling as a semi flush fitting or let it hang lower over a table.

What lamps do I need?

Six G9 capsule lamps, each up to 33W. We would choose LED capsules. Lamps are supplied separately.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

Yes, as long as the G9 capsules you fit are marked dimmable and the dimmer is compatible with them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

What space does it need?

It measures 650mm across and 250mm front to back, with a fitting height of 240mm before the drop is set.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated for dry indoor rooms only, so keep it to living spaces, kitchens, hallways and bedrooms.

How should I clean the glass?

Switch off at the wall and let the capsules go cold, then wipe the frosted and clear glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it off.
