Description
The Lock is a 70mm diameter recessed LED brick light in white powder-coated aluminium, housing a 3W 3000K integrated LED behind a frosted diffuser. The circular faceplate sits 6.5cm deep and mounts flush into external walls, brick courses or rendered surfaces, creating a vertical slot of warm white light through the centre aperture.
Designed for pathways, staircases, driveways and garden walls, the Lock provides low-level wayfinding and safety lighting without protruding into walking space. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from all directions, making it suitable for exposed positions including poolside, coastal locations and areas under eaves with rain blow-back. The recessed installation means the light source is shielded from direct rain and the aluminium body resists corrosion in damp environments.
The frosted diffuser softens the LED output to a gentle glow rather than a sharp beam, reducing glare when walking towards the fitting at eye level on stairs or pathways. The 3000K colour temperature casts warm white light comparable to a traditional halogen, avoiding the cold blue tone of older LED path lights. The 3W power draw is low enough to run multiple units on a single outdoor lighting circuit without overloading a transformer.
The white powder-coated finish pairs with rendered exteriors, painted brick and modern cladding materials. The 70mm diameter matches standard brick course centres, allowing the fitting to align neatly with mortar joints during installation. Installation requires cutting a 70mm hole into the wall substrate and wiring back to an outdoor-rated transformer or driver — an electrician is recommended for safe installation into masonry or blockwork.

Frequently Asked
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The 3W LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. Maytoni rates the LED for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which equates to around 10 years of typical evening use.
What voltage does it run on?
The fitting accepts AC 100-240V input, making it compatible with standard UK mains voltage through an outdoor-rated transformer or driver. Check your outdoor lighting circuit voltage before installation.
Can it be installed in a bathroom or shower room?
The IP54 rating protects against water spray but does not meet the IP65 or IPX4 requirements for bathroom zones where direct spray from showerheads or taps is expected. It is suitable for outdoor zones under eaves where rain blow-back occurs.
How is it installed?
Installation requires cutting a 70mm diameter hole into brick, blockwork or rendered substrate to the full 6.5cm depth, routing cable back to a transformer, and securing the fitting into the recess. An electrician is recommended for safe installation into masonry.
