Description

Our Liova kids chair gives a child a seat of their own with a backrest cut in the shape of a rabbit's head, two long ears rising from a round face. It is made from 70% MDF and 30% plywood with a painted finish, and it is multicoloured: the rabbit head and the top of the seat share one shade, while the legs and the curved back support are in another. The chair measures 40cm long, 30cm wide and 68cm tall, with the tips of the ears as its highest point, and it weighs 2.3KG.

It belongs in a child's bedroom or a playroom, pulled up to a small table for drawing, puzzles and colouring, or set on its own in a reading corner with a stack of picture books on the floor beside it. The rabbit gives the room a friendly character without any printed pattern, so it sits as happily in a calm, simple scheme as in a busy one. At 2.3KG it is light enough for an adult to carry from the bedroom to the living room when a child wants to be near the family, and it makes a birthday present for a child who already has plenty of toys.

The round seat rests on four curved legs, and a curved upright rises from the back of the seat to carry the rabbit head, fixed by two visible fixings so the head stands clear above the seat. Plywood is built from thin layers of wood laid with the grain crossing, which gives it strength for its weight, while MDF has a smooth, even surface that takes paint well, and the chair has a painted finish. For styling, let the chair be the one playful piece in a room of plain furniture, or pair it with a small round table and a rug so a child has a little corner that is theirs.
