Description

The Limbos is a 58cm flush ceiling light built around an integrated 40W LED module emitting 4000K neutral white light through a central opal diffuser. The circular fitting combines a matt white body with a black accent ring that defines the outer edge, creating tonal contrast without needing multiple fixture elements.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant or semi-flush would drop too low, the Limbos sits just 6cm proud of the ceiling surface. The 58cm diameter provides sufficient light coverage for bedrooms up to 18m², hallways, utility rooms, home offices and kitchens where neutral white task lighting is preferred over warm ambient light. The opal diffuser spreads the 40W output evenly across the ceiling plane, reducing harsh shadows and glare.

The matt white finish on the main body pairs cleanly with white ceilings, while the black ring adds definition that prevents the fitting from disappearing visually into the ceiling surface. The 3.65kg weight requires secure ceiling fixings — the fitting includes gravity toggles for hollow ceiling installations. The IP20 rating limits the Limbos to dry indoor use only; it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas.

Is the Limbos dimmable?

The integrated 40W LED is not dimmable. The fitting operates at full output on standard 230V mains switching. If dimming is required, you will need a different model from the Schuller range.

What colour temperature is 4000K?

4000K is neutral white, sitting between warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool white (5000K-6500K). It produces a clean, daylight-like illumination suited to task-focused spaces like kitchens, home offices and utility rooms rather than relaxation spaces.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Limbos is rated for dry indoor use only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones near water sources. Use this fitting in bedrooms, hallways, home offices or utility rooms instead.

What room size does it cover?

The 58cm diameter and 40W output suit rooms up to approximately 18m² (e.g., a 4m x 4.5m bedroom or home office). Larger spaces may benefit from two fittings spaced evenly across the ceiling.
