Description

The Lexi is a 500mm semi-flush ceiling light with 10 G4 bulb fittings set within a polished chrome framework of asymmetric wire arms, from which multiple strands of precision-cut Asfour crystals cascade. The chrome arms radiate from a central circular canopy in an irregular starburst pattern, and each arm supports chains of faceted crystals that hang at varying lengths, creating depth and movement as they catch and refract light.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Lexi works in dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls where a lower-profile fitting is needed but decorative presence is still required. The 390mm drop from ceiling to the lowest crystal makes this a semi-flush rather than a flush fitting, so it projects into the room enough to create visual interest without dominating spaces the way a full chandelier would. The 10 G4 bulbs sit within the upper chrome structure, directing light both upward onto the ceiling and downward through the crystal strands.

Each Asfour crystal is machine-cut with multiple facets, so when the bulbs are lit the entire fitting becomes a field of refracted light rather than a single point source. The polished chrome amplifies this effect by reflecting light back through the crystals from behind. The asymmetric arrangement of the wire arms means the crystal strands hang in clusters rather than a uniform grid, giving the fitting an organic rather than geometric appearance. The fitting weighs 5kg when fully assembled, so it requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting that load plus the weight of the bulbs.

The Lexi is dimmable when paired with G4-compatible halogen bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer. G4 LED and CFL bulbs are not compatible with this fitting due to the transformer and dimmer requirements, so halogen capsule bulbs are the recommended lamp type. Bulbs are sold separately.

The fitting takes 10 G4 halogen capsule bulbs, each up to 20W. G4 LED and CFL bulbs are not compatible with this fitting due to the transformer and dimmer design. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The 390mm drop makes this a semi-flush fitting rather than a flush mount, so it projects into the room. It works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For lower ceilings, a true flush fitting with minimal drop would be more appropriate.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with G4 halogen bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer switch. The dimmer must be compatible with low-voltage halogen lighting and the transformer built into the fitting.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow the bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal strand gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For more persistent marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the chrome frame or allowing water near the bulb sockets.
