Description

Slim and upright, this is a drum in the narrow sense: 13cm across and 31cm tall, so it reads as a slender column of clear crystal rather than a wide hat. The crystal sits in antique brass, a warm, slightly darkened gold that stops the sparkle turning cold. Lit, it throws small points of light onto the surfaces around it; unlit, it still catches whatever daylight is in the room. It is non-electric, a shade on its own, and we reach for it where a plain fabric shade would sit too quietly.

We would use it over a bedside table, in a modest hallway, or in a run above a kitchen island where the narrow profile keeps sightlines clear. It is made to suit either a hanging suspension or a table lamp base, so the shade can move around the house as rooms change. The lamp is your choice: we would fit a warm white LED GLS, and 20W is the ceiling. Because the crystal is clear, the lamp shows through it, so a tidy glass envelope looks far better here than anything long or angular.

Antique brass and clear crystal make up the whole piece, and the pairing is the point: metal warmth read against bright glass.
