Description

A straight-sided cylinder in clear crystal with antique brass, this is a small shade at 15cm across and 24cm tall, so it brings sparkle without taking over a room. Clear crystal catches and splits light rather than diffusing it, giving a brighter, more faceted glow than any fabric shade will. It is non-electric and supplied as the shade alone, made to dress a fitting you already own or one chosen alongside it.

We reach for shades of this sort where a room wants a little glitter close to eye level: on bedside lamps, above a kitchen island, or in a narrow hallway where a larger shade would crowd the space. It works either hung from a suspension or sat on a lamp base, so the same piece can serve as a pendant in one room and a table lamp in another. Because the crystal is clear, keep the lamp modest; 20W is the ceiling, and an LED GLS is the sensible pick. The lamp belongs to the fitting rather than the shade, so it is not supplied here.

The metalwork wears an antique brass finish, a warmer and quieter gold than a polished silver tone, with the crystal clear throughout.
