Description

A small cone in polished chrome and clear crystal, this shade catches light from every angle and throws it back in fine points. It measures 23cm across at its widest, so it reads as jewellery rather than bulk: enough sparkle to be noticed, without crowding a room. The crystal is clear and cut, the chrome kept bright, and together they give a cool, silvery cast to the light. It carries no wiring of its own: this is a shade only, bought to dress a fitting you already have or one you choose alongside it.

We use these where a plain glass shade would fall flat: a bedside pendant, a dressing table lamp, a short run over a kitchen island, or a small hallway that wants a little life after dark. The cut faces are best seen close to eye level, so the cone suits lower ceilings and quiet corners as much as it does bigger rooms. On the fitting it dresses, an LED GLS lamp is what we would reach for, kept within the maximum wattage the maker allows; the lamp belongs to the host fitting rather than to the shade.

The body is crystal, clear and faceted, with the polished chrome finish on the metal parts. To keep the facets sharp, wipe them with a barely damp cloth and dry at once; sprays and creams will only dull the chrome. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range runs to other shapes in the same treatment, among them ball, bell, cylinder, drum and curved trapezium shades, with French gold and antique brass beside the chrome, so shades can be matched across a room or deliberately mixed. No lamp is supplied.
