Description

The Kopus is a 2-light semi-flush ceiling light with two cylindrical frosted glass shades mounted on a polished chrome bar, each housing a G9 bulb (included). The 310mm-wide linear bar sits 50mm from the ceiling surface, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above where a full pendant would hang too low.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, bedrooms and bathrooms where even ceiling-level light is needed without a flush-mounted dome, the Kopus directs light downwards and sideways through the frosted glass. The two G9 bulbs are rated at up to 40W each, giving a combined 80W output that covers small to medium-sized rooms of 8-12m². The semi-flush format keeps the fitting clear of doorways and circulation routes while still providing adequate task and ambient light.

The polished chrome finish on the bar reflects both daylight and artificial light, adding a clean metallic accent to white, grey or tiled ceilings. The frosted glass diffuses the light from the G9 capsule bulbs, softening the point-source effect and reducing glare. The fitting weighs 0.8kg and mounts directly to a ceiling rose or junction box using the integrated back plate. The shades are positioned to angle slightly outwards from the centre of the bar, distributing light across a wider area than a single-source fitting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted. The included bulbs may not be dimmable — check the packaging. To add dimming capability, replace with dimmable G9 LEDs and pair with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 50mm projection suits ceilings of 2.2m or higher. Below 2.2m the fitting still works but may feel closer to head height in circulation areas.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Kopus carries no IP rating in the specification, so it should only be installed in bathroom zones where no IP rating is required (typically Zone 3, more than 0.6m from the bath or shower). For zones closer to water, choose an IP44 or IP65 rated fitting.
