Description

The Knightsbridge LED plinth light is an 87.5mm square fitting designed to sit flush in skirting boards, kitchen plinths and stair risers, casting a low-level 15-lumen glow across the floor ahead. The integrated 0.8W SMD LED produces cool white 4000K light behind an opal diffuser, providing orientation lighting without glare.

Designed for indoor installation in kitchens, hallways and staircases, the fitting requires a minimum 25mm mounting depth behind the plinth or skirting board and connects to 230V mains. The screwless matt white faceplate sits flush with the surrounding surface once installed, projecting just 4.3mm from the wall. The low wattage means multiple fittings can be wired on a single circuit without significant load.

The steel construction provides durability in high-traffic areas where plinths and skirting boards endure regular impact from feet, vacuum cleaners and mops. The matt white finish blends into white and light-painted woodwork, while the IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor areas only. The fitting is non-dimmable and certified to EN 60598-1, EN 60598-2-2, EN 62471, EN 55015, EN 61547, EN 61000-3-2/-3.

What depth is required behind the plinth or skirting?

A minimum 25mm mounting depth is needed behind the surface where the fitting will sit. The faceplate projects 4.3mm from the wall once installed, so total clearance from rear mounting point to finished surface should be at least 29mm.

Is this suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating confirms this fitting is for dry indoor areas only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wetrooms, outdoor plinths or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or splashing.

Can multiple fittings be wired on the same circuit?

Yes. At 0.8W per fitting, multiple plinth lights can be wired on a single lighting circuit without significant load. For example, ten fittings would draw just 8W total.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and non-replaceable. The fitting carries a 2-year warranty and the LED is rated for typical long-term use.
