Description

The Knightsbridge 5ft LED batten is a 1525mm linear fitting built from pressed steel and polycarbonate, housing an integrated 83W LED module that delivers 11200lm output at 4000K cool white. The fitting includes a 3-hour maintained emergency function, allowing the batten to remain lit during mains power failure, making it suitable for commercial corridors, storage areas, workshops, and any space requiring emergency lighting compliance.

Designed as a direct replacement for conventional 5ft twin-tube fluorescent battens, the fitting includes rear and end conduit fixing points, a hinged gear tray for tool-free access to the driver, and push-fit loop-in loop-out connectors for single-step installation without additional junction boxes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser spreads light across a 155-degree beam angle, reducing harsh shadows and hotspots on work surfaces. The fitting achieves 154.88lm/W efficacy and carries an L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours, meaning the LED will maintain at least 70% of its initial lumen output after 50,000 hours of use.

The pressed steel body is finished in white, with a compact 61mm width and 71mm projection from the mounting surface. The IP20 rating makes the batten suitable for dry indoor environments such as offices, retail back-of-house, plant rooms, and garage workshop areas. The emergency function can be set to maintained (lit continuously), non-maintained (only lit during power failure), or switched mode depending on the installation requirement. The driver operates on 230V 50Hz mains and is rated Class I, requiring earth connection.

The 3-hour maintained emergency function keeps the batten lit during mains power failure, drawing from an internal battery. The batten can be set to maintained mode (always lit), non-maintained (only lit during power cuts), or switched mode depending on installation requirements. Emergency output is 250lm.

Can this replace a twin-tube fluorescent batten?

Yes. The 1525mm length matches standard 5ft fluorescent battens, and the rear and end conduit fixing points align with typical fluorescent batten mounting positions. The push-fit loop-in loop-out connectors allow direct wiring without additional junction boxes.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver operates at constant current and does not support dimming controls.

What ceiling or wall clearance is needed?

The batten projects 71mm from the mounting surface once installed. Ensure at least 80-100mm clearance between the fitting and any adjacent surface to allow airflow around the driver and prevent overheating.
