Description

The Knightsbridge 5ft LED emergency batten is a 1525mm linear ceiling fitting delivering 4290lm through an opal polycarbonate diffuser at 4000K cool white, powered by a 37W integrated LED achieving 148lm/W efficacy. The emergency function operates in maintained, non-maintained or switched modes, providing 205lm emergency output when mains power fails. The pressed steel housing mounts via rear and end conduit fixings or standard 600mm centres compatible with BESA boxes.

Designed as a direct replacement for conventional 5ft fluorescent battens in commercial, industrial and public-access spaces requiring emergency lighting compliance, the fitting suits corridors, stairwells, plant rooms, workshops and storage areas. The hinged gear tray opens to reveal push-fit loop-in loop-out terminals, allowing multiple battens to be daisy-chained without junction boxes. The 145° beam angle distributes light evenly across the full length of the fitting, minimising dark patches between multiple battens installed on a grid.

The white-painted steel body measures 61mm wide by 71mm deep, a low-profile form that fits beneath 2.4m ceilings without dominating sightlines. The opal diffuser hides the LED strip inside and softens the light output to reduce glare in spaces with reflective floors. The Class I earthed construction requires connection to a protective earth conductor, and the IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor environments only. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours predicts the LED will retain 70% of its initial output after approximately 5.7 years of continuous operation.
