Description

The Knightsbridge 1m LED aluminium profile is a surface-mount channel designed to house and protect LED strip lighting up to 12mm wide. The profile consists of a matt black powder-coated aluminium base measuring 1000mm long by 17mm wide by 7mm deep, supplied with an opal polycarbonate diffuser that clips into the channel and two black plastic end caps to seal the ends.

Designed for under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, under-shelf illumination in retail displays, cove lighting along skirting boards, and concealed accent lighting in joinery, the low-profile design sits 7mm proud of the mounting surface once installed. The profile mounts directly to the underside of cabinets, shelves or plinths using the two supplied mounting clips, which fix with screws (not included) at intervals along the 1m run. Additional clips can be purchased separately for longer installations or tighter fixing intervals.

The opal diffuser softens the point-source appearance of individual LEDs within the strip, creating an even line of light without visible hotspots. The 17mm width keeps the profile visually discreet when mounted in visible locations such as glass shelving or open alcoves. The IP20 rating limits the profile to dry indoor locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installation. The black powder-coat finish provides corrosion resistance and pairs with matt black joinery, dark worktops and contemporary interiors using black metalwork.

What width LED strip does it accept?

The profile accepts LED strip up to 12mm wide. Most standard 12V and 24V LED strip products sold for cabinet and cove lighting measure 8-10mm wide and fit comfortably within the channel with room for the adhesive backing.

Is the diffuser removable?

Yes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser clips into the aluminium channel and can be removed to install or replace the LED strip, then re-clipped without tools.

How many mounting clips are included?

Two mounting clips are supplied with each 1m profile. For installations where additional support is needed, or for runs longer than 1m created by joining multiple profiles end-to-end, additional clips and end caps are available separately under SKU 1MSURBKCAP.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the profile is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It is not rated for use in bathrooms, wet rooms, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or condensation.
