Description

The Knightsbridge 1m surface mount aluminium LED profile is a flat-section housing for LED strip up to 12mm wide, supplied with an opal diffuser, two mounting clips and two end caps. The 17mm-wide aluminium channel sits 7mm from the mounting surface when fitted, providing a low-profile solution for under-cabinet lighting, shelf lighting, and recessed lighting detail where a flush-mount profile cannot be installed.

Designed for use under kitchen cabinets, inside shelving units, along skirting boards, or as architectural accent lighting in retail and hospitality spaces, the profile conceals the LED strip behind the opal diffuser and creates a continuous line of light without visible LED dots. The two included mounting clips fix the profile to the underside of a cabinet or shelf using screws (not included), and the channel then clips into the mounting brackets. This means the profile can be removed for maintenance or LED strip replacement without disturbing the fixed mounting clips.

The matt silver aluminium finish blends with most cabinet interiors and painted surfaces. The opal diffuser softens the light output and hides the individual LED diodes on the strip, creating a more uniform light distribution along the 1m run. The IP20 rating makes this profile suitable for dry indoor environments only — not bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor use. Additional mounting clips and end caps are available separately (part code 1MSURCAP) if the profile needs to be cut shorter or joined with another 1m section.

What width LED strip does this profile accept?

The profile accepts LED strip up to 12mm wide. Most standard single-row LED strips are 8-10mm wide and fit comfortably inside the channel behind the opal diffuser.

How is the profile mounted?

Two metal mounting clips are included in the pack. The clips fix to the mounting surface with screws (not supplied), and the aluminium profile then clips into the mounting brackets. This allows the profile to be removed for maintenance without disturbing the fixed clips.

Can the profile be cut to a shorter length?

Yes. The aluminium channel and diffuser can both be cut with a hacksaw or fine-tooth saw to any length shorter than 1m. Additional end caps are available separately (part code 1MSURCAP) if you need to seal the cut end.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means this profile is designed for dry indoor environments only. It is not rated for damp or wet areas such as bathrooms, outdoor installations, or kitchen zones near sinks.
