Description

A compact square outdoor wall light in sand white, small enough to read as part of the wall rather than something applied to it. Light comes from a single GU10 lamp set behind the front opening, so the output is directed rather than scattered, giving a defined pool instead of a broad glow. The body is a shallow square of about 70mm, with a short projection that keeps it well clear of doors and gates. It is unswitched, running from a switch elsewhere on the circuit, and it is not dimmable.

We would use it beside a front door, along a path wall, at a porch or by a garage, wherever a small marker of light is wanted without the bulk of a lantern. It is rated for outdoor positions, holding out dust and splashing rain, so it works in a covered passage or out on an open patio. Because it takes a standard reflector lamp, the character is yours to set: a warm white LED for a welcoming doorway, a cooler one where you want steps read clearly. A 10W ceiling on the lamp keeps running costs modest, which helps if you are lighting several points around a garden.

The housing is painted in sand white, a soft off-white that sits well against render, brick and painted timber, and holds its own next to stainless or chrome ironmongery. Keep it looking right by wiping the paint with a damp cloth and drying it off; grit and cobwebs gather faster outside than in, so a look over it each season pays off. It carries a two year warranty. We also stock the Kandanchu shape in round, and this square body in anthracite, rust brown and sand black, so a run of them can be matched or mixed across a frontage. Lamps are not included.
