Description

Light goes up and down from a single compact round body here, so a doorway gets a soft wash above and a pool below rather than one flat glare. The tube is slim, 70mm across and 150mm tall, and sits tight to the wall in the sand white finish: a quiet off-white that works over render, brick and painted timber alike. It takes GU10 lamps, and small reflector lamps give the neatest result.

This is the size we reach for on a narrow porch, either side of a front door, or along the passage at the side of a house where a bigger lantern would be in the way. It is sealed against rain and splashing, so an exposed wall, a patio corner or a garage elevation are all fair game. There is no switch on the body, so it works from an indoor switch or an outdoor control, and it is not a dimming fitting: full output every time you flick it on.

The body is finished in a fine matt white with no shine to catch the sun, and we stock the same round shape in anthracite, rust brown and sand black if you would rather the fitting disappeared into the wall behind it. A square version runs alongside it, and each shape is also offered with a single lamp. Keeping it clean is a small job: cut the power, let the lamps cool, then wipe the outside with a cloth and warm water and clear any grit or cobwebs from the rim before they mark the finish. It carries a two year warranty. Lamps are not supplied.
