The Kalmelle table lamp is a teardrop-shaped cage of slim black steel wires, rising from a round black base to an open ring at the top. It stands 23cm tall and measures 16cm across, with a base 12cm across, so it fits comfortably on a bedside table or a narrow shelf. Inside the cage sits a single E27 lampholder that takes a bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included. The lamp is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

We see it working well on a bedside table, a desk in a home office, a sideboard in the living room or a console table in a hallway, anywhere dry that wants a low, decorative light. The open wirework suits industrial and loft-style rooms, yet the simple teardrop outline sits just as happily among softer, modern furnishings. Because the cage leaves the bulb fully on show, the bulb you choose becomes part of the look, so a decorative filament bulb is worth considering. A cord switch on the cable turns the lamp on and off, so there is no need to reach inside the cage.
