The Kali Leaves cushion is an outdoor cushion with two faces, and that is the first thing to know about it. One side carries a bold, hand-painted jungle scene of broad tropical foliage in deep greens and near-black, cut through with a warm orange ground and a scatter of white flowers with yellow centres. Turn it over and the reverse settles right down into a soft sage ground with slim olive leaves trailing on fine coral stems. It measures 50 x 50cm, a standard scatter-cushion size, and it is made from 100% polyester with a zip fastening so the cover can come off.

Being an outdoor cushion, this one is built for the patio, the garden bench, the balcony or a covered seating area rather than the sofa indoors, though nothing stops you using it inside too. The two prints give you a genuine choice season to season and mood to mood: the busy tropical face for a warm, lively corner, the quiet leaf-trail face when you want something calmer. It sits happily against natural rattan, pale timber and neutral outdoor upholstery, and being reversible it pairs with more schemes than a single-sided cushion would.
