Description
Two GU10 lamps sit side by side in a small rectangular housing painted matt white, with opal white where the light leaves the fitting. The body is shallow and stays tight to the ceiling, so there is nothing to duck beneath and little to notice from across the room. At roughly 20cm along its longest edge, it reads as a neat pair of downward beams rather than something asking to be looked at. We would fit LED reflector lamps and let them get on with it.
Low ceilings are the obvious case: a hallway, a landing, a small kitchen, a box room, or the flatter part of a loft conversion where headroom is tight. It is one we reach for where a pendant would hang too low or a spotlight bar would look too busy over a short span. Run two or three in a line down a corridor and the light stays even without any of them dominating. Dimming is possible provided dimmable lamps are chosen. Keep it to dry rooms; a bathroom or a porch wants a properly rated fitting instead.
The matt white finish is flat rather than glossy, which keeps the housing quiet against a white or pale ceiling and stops it flaring under its own light. Switch off at the wall and give the lamps a few minutes to cool before going over the housing with a dry cloth; GU10 reflectors run warm, and nothing abrasive should touch the paint. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same rectangular two light version in silver, and there is a single light square in white or silver for spots where a shorter fitting sits better. Lamps are not included, so choose the beam width to suit the room before ordering.

Frequently Asked
What lamps does it take?
Two GU10 lamps, up to 50W each. We would use 50mm LED reflectors, which draw a fraction of that while giving the same spread of light.
How far does it project from the ceiling?
The housing is 120mm deep and measures 200mm by 100mm on the ceiling, so it keeps well clear of head height even in a low hallway.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, as long as dimmable GU10 lamps are used with a compatible dimmer. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer come with the fitting.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which suits dry indoor rooms only. A bathroom needs a fitting rated for the relevant zone.
How should the white finish be cleaned?
A dry or barely damp soft cloth is enough. Avoid solvents, cream cleaners and scouring pads, as they will dull the matt paint.
Is a warm or cool light better in it?
Warm white around 2700K suits hallways and bedrooms; a cooler lamp works better over a worktop where you want crisper light.
