Description
The K Series GU10 spotlight bulb is a directional mains-voltage LED lamp that drops straight into a standard twist-lock GU10 fitting. It draws just 6W while replacing an old 50W halogen, putting out 485 lumens of 3000K warm white light through a 100 degree beam. That wide spread is broader than the tight pools you get from many spotlights, so the light falls more evenly rather than spiking to a single bright spot. American buyers will know the PAR16 reflector shape as the small mains spotlight bulb that fits the GU10 base directly, with no transformer involved.
The 100 degree beam and warm tone make this bulb a good fit for recessed downlights and spotlights in kitchens, living rooms and hallways, where the wider angle helps wash worktops and floors instead of leaving dark gaps between fittings. It runs on 220 to 240V AC straight from the mains, so unlike a low-voltage GU5.3 or MR16 lamp it needs no separate transformer or driver. The warm 3000K colour suits relaxed domestic rooms, and the Ra 80 colour rendering keeps furnishings and food looking natural. This is an indoor bulb only, so keep it to dry interior fittings rather than any damp, bathroom or exterior location, since suitability there depends on the fitting and not the lamp.
The lamp measures Ø50 by 56mm and weighs 18g, matching the standard GU10 envelope so it sits flush in most fittings. It twists and locks into the GU10 holder with a simple quarter turn, with no wiring or extra components needed. The LED is rated to 20,000 hours and reaches 93 lm/W efficiency, so it stays cooler and lasts far longer than the halogen it replaces. This bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard on/off switch. The body has a clean white finish. The K Series also covers other GU10 outputs and colour tones across our bulb range.

Frequently Asked
Does this GU10 bulb need a transformer?
No. The GU10 cap is a mains-voltage twist-lock fitting, so this bulb runs directly from a 220 to 240V AC supply with no transformer or driver. Only low-voltage caps such as GU5.3 or MR16 need a separate transformer.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
It draws just 6W but gives the light output you would expect from a 50W halogen GU10, around 485 to 560 lumens. The bulb itself only ever uses 6W, so you make a large saving on running costs.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb. It should be used on a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer, as fitting a non-dimmable lamp to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or shorten its life.
What does the 100 degree beam angle mean in practice?
The 100 degree beam is wider than a typical narrow spotlight, spreading the light over a larger area rather than into a tight pool. That makes it well suited to general room lighting from recessed downlights, giving more even coverage across worktops and floors.
