Description

This oval serving platter is made of speckled stoneware in cream, finished with a reactive glaze that pools and breaks across the surface. It measures 33.5cm long, 18.5cm wide and 3.5cm tall, a generous size for sharing that still leaves room on the table: long enough for a row of sliced meats or a side of roasted vegetables, narrow enough to sit down the middle between place settings. Towards one end the glaze runs darker and settles into a heavier speckle where it has pooled, while the open centre stays light and finely flecked.

We see it working hardest between the kitchen and the table. Bring it out for a weekend brunch with pastries and fruit, lay out cheese and crackers when friends come round, or carry fish or roasted vegetables straight from the oven to the table. Because it can go in the oven and the microwave, you can warm food on it and serve from the same dish, which means one less thing to wash afterwards.
