This oval platter is made entirely of stoneware and finished by hand in a reactive glaze, so the surface moves from a soft cream across most of the piece to a deeper, speckled patch of glaze that pools at one end. It measures 33.5cm long, 18.5cm wide and 3.5cm tall, which puts it firmly in serving territory: long enough to carry a main dish down the table, narrow enough to sit between place settings without crowding them. The shallow sides rise into a gentle rim, which gives sauces and dressings somewhere to gather. It weighs 0.855KG.
