Description

The Joan is an 813mm diameter 5-light chandelier built around a burnished brass circular frame suspended from a central rod, with five hourglass-shaped matte white metal shades radiating outward on angled brass arms. Each shade houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and features small perforations along the metal body that allow light to escape as patterned wash on surrounding surfaces while the main downward glow provides task and ambient illumination.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Joan sits between 893mm and 2113mm below the ceiling depending on how much of the adjustable cable is used during installation. The 813mm spread works over tables 1.4-1.8m long or circular tables up to 1.2m diameter, with the chandelier typically positioned 700-800mm above the table surface. The combination of downward-directed light from the five shades and the perforated glow through the metal provides both functional illumination and decorative interest.

The burnished brass frame has a warm, slightly aged finish that sits between polished brass and antique brass in tone, pairing well with warm wood dining tables, mid-century furniture and contemporary interiors using warm metallics. What bulbs does the Joan take?

The chandelier takes five E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to balance the warm brass tone.

What ceiling height is needed?

The drop is adjustable between 893mm and 2113mm on installation. For a dining table the chandelier typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Joan if the cable is shortened to the minimum 893mm drop.

What size table does it suit?

The 813mm diameter works over rectangular tables 1.4-1.8m long or circular tables up to 1.2m diameter. For longer tables a second Joan or a different multi-light fitting may provide more balanced coverage.

Can the shades be rotated or adjusted after installation?

The five shades are fixed to the brass arms at the factory and cannot be individually rotated or angled once the chandelier is assembled. The drop height is the only adjustment available during fitting.
