This is a AAA alkaline cell, code LR03, rated at 1.5V, and it is priced and sold as a single cell rather than as a pack. AAA is the slim penlight size that sits below AA, and every cell built to the LR03 standard shares the same dimensions, so it will drop into any compartment marked AAA, LR03 or Micro. Alkaline is the everyday chemistry for this size: it holds more energy than a zinc carbon cell of the same dimensions and copes better with the steady current a small motor or a backlit display asks for. The pack also states 0% mercury and cadmium.

No. Alkaline cells are single use and should go to a battery recycling point when spent. We list JCB rechargeable AA cells separately if you want a rechargeable option.
