Description

This is a two-cell pack of JCB AAAA alkaline batteries, the slim 1.5V size the pack also marks as E96. AAAA is one of the specialist formats rather than a household staple: it is noticeably narrower than an AAA and a little shorter, so the two are not interchangeable and a device asking for AAAA will only take AAAA. The cells are alkaline, the standard single-use chemistry for steady drain at ordinary room temperature, and each one gives the 1.5V printed on the pack.

The AAAA size turns up in equipment built around a pen-sized body: active stylus pens for touchscreen laptops and tablets, slim laser pointers, penlight torches, small medical readers and some compact measuring tools. If you are replacing cells, the quickest check is the old battery itself, because the size is almost always printed along the barrel next to the voltage.
