Description

These are AA alkaline cells from JCB's Ultra Alkaline line, ten of them on one hanging card. Each cell runs at the standard 1.5V and carries the codes AA, LR6 and MN1500, printed on the cells and the card. Those three names all describe the same barrel cell, which helps when a manual quotes one code and the cell in your hand carries another. Alkaline is the everyday chemistry for household kit: it stores well and suits most things that take a disposable cell.

Ten is a household quantity rather than a top-up. That covers four in a child's toy, a pair in the television remote, a pair in a wall clock and two left in the drawer. Alkaline AA suits the steady low and medium draw of remotes, clocks, torches, wireless keyboards and mice, radios and door chimes, and it will run heavier items such as a games controller, though those empty a cell faster whatever the brand.
