Description
The Jaye is a filled bedspread in soft cotton velvet, made up at 140 x 220cm. The face is a plain rust orange velvet with the deep, light-catching pile that gives velvet its shifting tone as you move around it, and the edge is finished with a twin stitched border and a soft fringed trim running the whole way round. Turn a corner back and the reverse is a smoother woven cotton in the same rust shade, so the piece reads two ways depending on which side you show.
At 140 x 220cm it works as a top layer over a single or a small double, or folded across the foot of a larger bed as a runner. It suits a bedroom built on warm, natural tones, and the rust sits happily against creams, browns and other earthy shades rather than fighting them. Because it is a filled bedspread rather than a flat throw, it has a little weight and body to it, which is what lets it hold a folded line neatly across the end of a bed or drape over the arm of a chair without slipping.
The outer is 100% cotton velvet and the filling is polyester, so you get the soft handle of cotton on the surface with a light, even loft inside. The twin stitched edge keeps that filling settled and the fringed trim softens the outline. Cotton on the face means the pile takes colour deeply and feels warm to the touch. A matching Jaye cushion is made in the same velvet if you want to build the look out further.

Frequently Asked
What is the bedspread made from?
The outer is 100% cotton velvet and the filling is 100% polyester, so the surface has the soft handle of cotton over a light, even loft.
What size is the Jaye bedspread?
It measures 140 x 220cm, which suits a top layer over a single or small double, or folded across the foot of a larger bed.
Is it the same on both sides?
No. The face is a plush cotton velvet pile and the reverse is a smoother woven cotton in the same rust shade, so you can show either side.
What is the fringed edge like?
A soft fringed trim runs around the whole outline, set against a twin stitched border that keeps the filling settled and the edge neat.
What colours does it work with?
The rust orange sits well with creams, browns and other warm, earthy tones, making it an easy way to add natural colour to a bedroom.
