Description
The Itech is a surface-mounted emergency led light drawing 4.5W from a 220-240V AC supply and delivering 499 lumens at a crisp 5000K. It runs from a mains feed in normal use and switches to its battery backup when the supply fails, holding a clear output to mark escape routes. American specifiers will recognise it as an emergency luminaire of the round bulkhead form, its circular Ø170 face giving even spread rather than a tight directional beam.
Built for exposed and wet locations as well as sheltered ones, the Itech earns its place in plant rooms, car parks, loading bays, external stairwells and damp utility corridors where standard fittings would not survive. Rather than ambient room coverage, its job is escape-route marking: positioned above doorways, along corridors and at changes of level, the 499 lumen output keeps the path to an exit legible during a power loss. Mount it at the heights set by your emergency lighting design so the lit zone falls where people need to see their way out.
The housing is white plastic measuring Ø170 by 66.5mm and weighing 430g, with surface fixing to wall or ceiling as the layout requires. Its IP65 rating seals it against dust and water jets, so it copes with direct exposure to the weather and wash-down areas alike. The integral battery and gear sit within the body, keeping installation to a single fixed point. This F2 variant sits within the wider Itech emergency range we stock, alongside other output and form options for matching a scheme across a site.

Frequently Asked
Is this a maintained or non-maintained emergency fitting?
The Itech is designed to provide light only when the mains supply fails, charging its internal battery during normal operation. Check the wiring details against your scheme, as the same housing is offered in different operating modes across the range. For continuously lit areas a maintained version may suit better.
How long does it stay lit on battery?
Emergency luminaires of this class are built to a standard backup duration, most commonly three hours, sufficient to clear a building safely. Confirm the rated duration on the spec sheet for your compliance records. The battery recharges automatically once mains power returns.
Can it be used outdoors or in wet areas?
Yes. With an IP65 rating it is sealed against dust and water jets, making it suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions, car parks, loading bays and wash-down zones. This is why it suits sites where a dry-rated fitting would fail.
How should the lens be kept clean?
Wipe the white plastic body and lens with a soft damp cloth once the fitting is isolated and cool, avoiding solvents that could mark the surface. Keeping the diffuser clear preserves the full 499 lumen output for escape-route visibility. A periodic check fits well alongside routine emergency lighting testing.
