Description

The Itech 302MSTW is a round surface-mounted emergency luminaire measuring Ø170 by 66.5 mm. It runs at 2W from a 220-240 AC supply and delivers 270 lumens at a crisp 5000K, the cool tone favoured for emergency lighting because it keeps signage and escape routes clearly legible under stress. As an emergency led light it sits dormant while mains power is present and switches to its battery on a supply failure, marking the way out rather than lighting the space for general use.

Its job is to keep escape routes, corridors, stairwells and final exits visible during a power loss, so it is mounted along the paths people follow to leave a building. The 270 lumen output is set for route marking and exit identification, not ambient room brightness, throwing enough light to read signage and pick out steps and doorways along the way. Because it carries an IP65 rating, the 302MSTW also suits exposed and wet positions such as covered car parks, plant rooms, external walkways and damp utility areas where standard indoor emergency fittings would not cope.

The body is moulded plastic in a white finish and weighs 430 g, with an IP65 seal that makes it dust-tight and protected against water jets for outdoor and wet locations. It mounts to a wall or ceiling on its surface bracket, with no recessing required, so it fits straightforwardly onto a finished surface. The cool 5000K output is fixed for compliance. Other emergency formats and accessories are available across the wider Kanlux range we stock.

Frequently Asked

Is this a maintained or non-maintained emergency light?

The 302MSTW is a dedicated emergency luminaire that activates on mains failure to mark escape routes. Confirm the maintained or non-maintained mode against the supplied data sheet, as this determines whether it is also lit during normal operation. Wire it to the relevant circuit so it charges while mains power is present.

How long does it stay lit during a power cut?

Emergency luminaires of this kind are built to run from their internal battery for the standard emergency duration once the mains supply drops. Check the rated duration on the spec sheet to confirm it meets the period required for your site. The battery recharges automatically when normal power returns.

Can it be used outdoors or in wet areas?

Yes. With an IP65 rating the 302MSTW is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it suits exposed outdoor positions and wet locations such as covered car parks, external walkways and damp plant rooms. This is a step up from indoor-only emergency fittings rated IP20.

How do I clean the fitting?

Wipe the white plastic surface and lens with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it dry before testing. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can dull the diffuser and reduce light output. Keep the lens clear so escape-route illumination stays at full brightness.
