Description
The IQ-LEDEX is a GU10 LED spotlight bulb in the familiar PAR16 reflector shape, giving a directional, controlled pool of light. It twist-locks into a standard GU10 holder and runs straight off mains voltage at 220 to 240V AC, so no transformer or separate driver is needed (unlike a low-voltage GU5.3/MR16 type). The bulb draws just 4.7W yet puts out 850 lumens, replacing an old 89W lamp. A 100 degree beam angle spreads the light wider than a tight spot, and the 3000K warm white tone keeps the output soft rather than clinical.
In a multi-fitting downlight layout or a track head this bulb works for general accenting, task pools over a worktop, or picking out shelving and wall features. The wide 100 degree beam suits closer-spaced ceiling fixtures where you want overlapping coverage rather than isolated spots; for a tighter, more dramatic throw you would choose a narrower beam. As an indoor bulb it belongs in living rooms, kitchens, hallways and bedrooms. With an IP20 rating it is for dry interior use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp areas and anything outdoors, where the fitting rather than the bulb sets what is allowed.
The bulb has a silver finish and measures Ø50 by 56mm, a compact 46g unit that drops into existing GU10 fittings without adapters. Efficiency is high at 181 lm/W and the rated lifespan is 50,000 hours, so replacements are infrequent. Colour rendering is Ra 80, fair for everyday spaces. Note this is a non-dimmable bulb, so pair it with a standard non-dimming circuit. We stock other GU10 wattages and beam options in the same range if you need a different output or spread.

Frequently Asked
What fitting does this bulb need?
It has a GU10 cap, the twist-lock mains spotlight base. You push it into the holder and turn a quarter to lock it. As a mains-voltage GU10 it needs no transformer, unlike a low-voltage GU5.3/MR16 type.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
The LED itself draws only 4.7W but produces 850 lumens, equivalent to an old 89W lamp. You get the same brightness for a fraction of the energy, and the rated lifespan is 50,000 hours.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, it is non-dimmable. Fit it on a standard non-dimming circuit rather than a dimmer switch, as using it with a dimmer can cause flicker or shorten its life.
What does the warm white tone and 100 degree beam suit?
The 3000K warm white gives a soft, relaxed light good for living spaces and kitchens. The 100 degree beam is fairly wide, spreading an even wash rather than a tight spot, which works well in closer-spaced downlights or track heads.
