Description

Hudson is a floor lamp in black. A slim black column on a flat round black base, carrying two bright chrome goosenecks that rise from a chrome sleeve near the top and bend out at different heights, each ending in a small black cone head. The heads are open underneath and can be pushed round independently, so one can read while the other washes a wall. The chrome sleeve holds two small switches, one for each arm. The black is matt on the column, the base and both heads. The base is small and heavy, sized to stand beside a chair. It measures 9cm across and 120cm tall, in metal.

It stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space. That is what a floor lamp is for: it takes the reading light off the ceiling and puts it at shoulder height, so the room can be lit softly and still be worked in.

The holder is GU10 and takes up to 7W each. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. It carries an E energy label.

Which bulb does it take?

A GU10 lamp up to 7W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
