Description

The Horvena is a compact LED table lamp in satin nickel, with a slim horizontal tube for a head, a flexible gooseneck and a flat rectangular base. The body is steel and aluminium, and the lamp stands 39.5cm high, 30cm long and 19cm wide, so it fits neatly at the back of most desks. The light source is integrated LED, set behind the white diffuser that runs the length of the head, so there is no separate bulb to buy. It is rated at 5W and gives 500lm. The IP20 rating settles where it lives: indoors, in a dry room.

We think it does its best work on a study desk, a home office worktop or a desk in the bedroom, wherever you want light on the surface in front of you rather than a glow around the whole room. The long head suits reading, writing and laptop work, and the gooseneck lets you tilt it towards the page or the keyboard. With three colour temperatures, one lamp covers the whole day: a warm 2700K for winding down in the evening, a neutral 4000K for everyday tasks and a crisp 6500K whenever you want bright, daylight-like light for close work.

The switch is a touch dimmer, so you brighten or soften the light with a touch rather than hunting for a button, and the colour temperature is chosen at the lamp itself. The satin nickel finish has a soft brushed look that sits easily with pale wood, grey walls and white desk accessories, and the steel and aluminium body keeps the lines slim from base to head. The lamp carries an energy class of F. Installation instructions are available as a download, and the packed weight is 1.156KG, which is worth knowing if the lamp is heading to a top-floor study.
