Description

The HDview DBG2 is a grey aluminium deep base designed for HDview IP dome cameras, specifically the HC528FDG 5MP and HC828FDG 8MP models. The base provides a 122mm diameter mounting platform with a 25mm cable entry aperture, allowing mains and network cables to be routed through the base and into the camera body without exposing cable runs on the exterior surface.

Designed for outdoor installations where the camera needs to be mounted on a flat surface (soffit, ceiling, wall) and where the mounting surface does not provide enough depth to conceal the camera's cable connections, the deep base adds 44mm of projection between the mounting surface and the camera body. This conceals the cable entry point and provides a neater finish than surface-mounted conduit or cable clips. The aluminium construction is weatherproof and suitable for year-round outdoor exposure.

The grey powder-coated finish matches the standard body colour of the HC528FDG and HC828FDG dome cameras, creating a unified appearance when the camera is installed. The base weighs 231g and mounts to the surface using four fixing points around the perimeter. Once the cables are routed through the 25mm aperture and connected to the camera, the dome camera body fixes directly to the top face of the base, covering the cable entry and presenting a clean circular profile from below.

The DBG2 is designed for the HDview HC528FDG 5MP dome camera and the HC828FDG 8MP dome camera. It may be compatible with other HDview IP dome models with a similar mounting footprint, but compatibility should be checked against the camera's installation manual before purchasing.

What size cable does the 25mm entry accommodate?

The 25mm aperture accepts standard Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a network cables plus mains power cables, with enough clearance for cable glands or grommets if needed. Multiple cables can be routed through the same aperture.

Is the base suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The aluminium construction with powder-coated finish is weatherproof and designed for outdoor installation. The base should be mounted with the cable entry facing downward or to the side to prevent water ingress.

How much projection does it add to the installation?

The base adds 44mm of depth between the mounting surface and the bottom of the camera body. This is in addition to the camera's own height once installed on the base.
