Description

The HDview IP 5MP dome camera combines a 2.8mm fixed lens with a 1/2.8" image sensor, delivering 5-megapixel resolution at a 115° diagonal viewing angle. The camera records continuously in full colour under white LED illumination or switches to infrared mode in low light, maintaining visibility up to 30 metres in total darkness.

Designed for outdoor installation on building exteriors, car parks, driveways and perimeter zones, the camera carries an IP67 ingress protection rating against dust and water. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) allows the camera to draw power and transmit data over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, simplifying installation where mains sockets are not accessible. The built-in microphone and speaker support two-way audio, allowing remote communication through the camera via the connected recorder or app.

The grey housing measures 133mm in diameter and projects 135mm from the mounting surface, fitting standard junction boxes and wall brackets. The camera accepts a microSD card up to 128GB for local recording as a backup to network recording. The 2.8mm lens provides a wide field of view suited to monitoring entrances, driveways and front gardens where coverage area matters more than distant detail.

The camera operates on standard IP network infrastructure and integrates with NVRs and VMS platforms that support ONVIF or HDview protocols. Infrared cut filter switching is automatic, so the camera transitions between day and night modes without manual intervention. The white LED array can be configured to activate on motion detection, acting as a deterrent light as well as an illumination source.

Frequently Asked

What cable does this camera require?

The camera uses Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), so it requires a single Cat5e or Cat6 network cable connected to a PoE switch or PoE NVR. This cable carries both power and data, so no separate mains power supply is needed at the camera.

What's the difference between the white LED and IR modes?

The white LED array provides visible light, recording in full colour and acting as a deterrent. In total darkness or when the ambient light drops below the threshold, the camera switches to infrared mode, recording in black and white. Both modes provide visibility up to 30 metres.

Is the camera suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The IP67 rating means the housing is protected against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre depth. This makes it suitable for installation in exposed outdoor locations including rain, snow and high-humidity environments.

Does it work with third-party NVRs?

The camera supports ONVIF profiles, so it integrates with most third-party NVRs and VMS platforms that comply with ONVIF standards. Check the recorder's compatibility list or contact us to confirm before purchasing if you're pairing with a specific existing system.
