Description

The GX53 LED Spotlight Bulb is a slim, puck-shaped lamp built around the GX53 twist-and-lock cap, which seats into the fitting with a quarter turn rather than a screw or pin. It draws just 9 W from a standard 220 to 240V mains supply while putting out 595 lumens, so it stands in for an old 56 W bulb on a fraction of the power. The light comes out warm white at 3000K with a Ra 80 colour rendering, and the wide 110 degree beam spreads it broadly rather than as a tight spot, which suits it to general fill rather than sharp accenting.

At 595 lumens with that broad 110 degree spread, this lamp is a good fit for the shallow GX53 downlights and ceiling fittings common in kitchens, hallways and under-cabinet units, where the flat Ø75 by 25 mm body matters for tight recesses. One bulb covers a cupboard interior or a small reading nook comfortably, and several across a kitchen run give an even wash of light without bright hotspots.
