Description
This GX53 LED spotlight bulb is a directional twist-fit lamp that drops the wattage of an old reflector right down while keeping the output high. It draws just 9 W in place of a 58 W conventional bulb, putting out 600 lumens at a crisp 6000K daylight tone. The 110 degree beam spreads the light fairly wide for a spot, so it washes a surface or area rather than throwing a tight pinpoint. Unlike a GU10 search term you might know it by, the GX53 uses a flat puck body with a quarter-turn twist cap rather than push-and-twist pins, and it runs straight off mains voltage at 220 to 240V AC with no separate transformer needed.
Daylight at 6000K suits places where clear, bright light helps you see detail: under-cabinet pucks in a kitchen, display and cabinet lighting, shallow ceiling fittings and shop or office spotting. The wide 110 degree spread means a single bulb covers a worktop section or a shelf face evenly rather than leaving a hot centre, and several spaced along a run give consistent coverage. Because it is a low-profile lamp at only 25 mm deep, it fits the slim recessed fittings that GX53 lamps are made for, where a deeper bulb would not sit flush. The Ra 80 colour rendering keeps everyday colours looking natural under the cool light.
The body measures 75 mm across and 25 mm deep and weighs 70 g, finished in white. It carries the GX53 twist cap, which locks into the holder with a quarter turn and needs no tools. The rated life is 20,000 hours, and efficiency sits at around 83 lm/W. This bulb is non-dimmable, so it should run on a standard non-dimmed circuit. It is an indoor lamp and should be kept to dry interior fittings. We stock the GX53 range in other tones and wattages if a warmer light or different output suits the fitting better.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this bulb need?
It has a GX53 cap, the flat puck-style base with two pins that locks in with a quarter turn. It is designed for the slim recessed GX53 holders found in under-cabinet and shallow ceiling fittings. It is not interchangeable with GU10 or screw-cap holders.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
It draws 9 W of actual power but gives the light of a 58 W conventional bulb, producing 600 lumens. So you get a large reduction in energy use for the same brightness. The 9 W figure is what the LED itself consumes.
Is this a warm or cool light?
It is a daylight tone at 6000K, which reads as a crisp, cool white. This suits kitchens, workspaces and display areas where clear, bright light is wanted. If you prefer a warmer look, other tones are available in the range.
Can this bulb be dimmed?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb and should be used on a standard non-dimmed circuit. Fitting it to a dimmer switch can cause flicker, buzzing or shortened life. Choose a dimmable lamp if you need adjustable output.
