Description

This GU10 LED spotlight bulb gives a directional, mains-voltage light from a twist-lock GU10 cap, so it drops straight into a standard GU10 fitting with no transformer needed. Where the low-voltage MR16 type relies on a separate driver, the GU10 runs directly on 220-240V AC. It draws just 6.5W while replacing roughly a 59W old halogen, putting out 510 lumens of 2700K warm white through a wide 110 degree beam. American buyers will recognise this PAR16 reflector format as the standard twist-lock spot bulb for downlights and track heads.

The wide 110 degree spread makes this a softer, more even spotlight than a tight narrow-beam lamp, so it suits general fill rather than sharp accenting. It works well in kitchen and hallway recessed downlights, on indoor track, and in ceiling spots across living rooms and bedrooms, where the warm 2700K tone keeps the light relaxed and inviting. Because output and throw matter more than floor coverage for a single spot, think of it lighting a broad pool beneath the fitting rather than a measured area; group several across a ceiling for whole-room cover. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor positions only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor location.

The bulb measures Ø50 by 57 mm with a silver finish and weighs only 38 g, matching the size of a conventional GU10 halogen for easy swapping. With a high Ra 95 colour rendering it shows skin tones, food and decor accurately, and an efficiency of 89 lm/W keeps running costs low over its 25,000 hour rated life. This is a non-dimmable lamp, so pair it with a standard non-dimmed switch. The IQ-LED build delivers stable warm-white light from first switch-on.

Frequently Asked

Which fitting does this bulb need?

It has a GU10 twist-lock cap, the standard mains-voltage spotlight fitting, so it pushes in and twists to lock. It runs on 220-240V AC and needs no transformer or driver, unlike the low-voltage MR16 (GU5.3) type.

What old bulb wattage does it replace?

The LED draws only 6.5W itself but produces 510 lumens, replacing a roughly 59W old halogen GU10. You get the same brightness for a fraction of the energy, with a rated life of 25,000 hours.

Is this bulb dimmable?

No, this is a non-dimmable bulb, so it should be used on a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer. Fitting it to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or buzzing and shorten its life.

Is the light warm or cool, and how wide is the beam?

It gives a 2700K warm white, a soft and relaxing tone suited to living spaces. The wide 110 degree beam spreads an even pool of light, and the high Ra 95 colour rendering shows colours and detail accurately.
