Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, square LED downlight that sits close against the ceiling as a neat panel, 39cm long, 39cm wide and just 2.5cm in height. A black plastic frame borders a white plastic diffuser, so the light spreads evenly across the whole face of the panel rather than from a single bright point. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 17.5W and giving 2,800lm, a generous output for one ceiling light. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, well away from bathrooms and the weather.

Because it is so shallow, we like it in rooms where a pendant would crowd the space: a hallway or landing, a bedroom, a home office or a living room with a lower ceiling. The black frame draws a clean outline against a white ceiling, a graphic touch that sits well in modern interiors. The real gain is the choice of three colour temperatures. At 2700K the light is a warm white for relaxed evenings and bedrooms, at 4000K a neutral white that suits a study or a working corner, and at 6500K a cool daylight white for jobs that call for clear, crisp light.

Adjustable colour temperature means one fitting can serve a room in different ways, so you pick the tone that suits the moment rather than buying a second light. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own: it is switched at the wall. Body and diffuser are both plastic, and the packed weight is 1.677KG.
