Description

Gosmelle is a slim, square LED downlight with a brushed satin nickel trim framing a white plastic diffuser. It measures 21.6cm long and 21.6cm wide, and its steel body needs only 2.6cm of recess depth, so it suits ceilings with little room behind the plasterboard. The light comes from integrated LEDs rated at 17W and giving 2,000 lumens at 3000K, a warm white that feels relaxed rather than clinical, and there is no separate bulb to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors and dry, in living spaces rather than bathrooms or anywhere close to water.

That makes it a light for the main rooms of the house: living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, landings and home offices. At 2,000 lumens, one Gosmelle gives a generous wash of light. The square shape lines up neatly with the walls, so a few set out in a row along a hallway or in a grid across a larger room look tidy. The thin trim sits close to the ceiling for a clean, modern finish, and the satin nickel pairs well with brushed steel door handles, chrome switch plates and grey or white schemes. The body is steel, the trim has a brushed satin nickel finish and the white diffuser spreads the LEDs into an even, flat panel of light.
