Description

The Gosmelle is a round, shallow LED downlight with a black steel body framing a white plastic diffuser. It is a surface-mounted fitting, so it sits on the ceiling rather than into it, and at 16cm in diameter and only 2.8cm high it keeps a slim, tidy profile even on a low ceiling. The LED is integrated, drawing 11W and giving 1,350 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, so there is no separate bulb to buy. Its IP44 rating settles where it can go: it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall as well as indoors.

Warm white at 3000K gives a soft, welcoming glow that suits hallways, landings, kitchens and utility rooms, and the shallow body works neatly in a corridor where a hanging light would get in the way. It also suits a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. Outdoors, it can go on a house wall beside a front or back door, giving a warm welcome after dark. The black rim draws a crisp outline against a pale ceiling, so the light looks considered rather than purely practical, and it sits comfortably alongside black handles, taps and switches.

The body is steel and the diffuser is plastic, and the white disc softens the integrated LEDs into one even glow.
