Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight that sits close to the ceiling, 21cm across and just 2.8cm deep. A black steel body forms a neat rim around a white plastic diffuser, which softens the built-in LEDs into one even disc of light. It draws 17W and gives 2,000 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, a cosy colour that suits living spaces. The IP rating is IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room, never in a bathroom or outdoors.

Because it is so shallow, the Gosmelle suits rooms where a hanging pendant would feel in the way: hallways, landings, bedrooms, studies and living rooms, and especially homes with lower ceilings. Two thousand lumens is a generous output for a fitting this compact, so it can work as the main light in a smaller room rather than only as a background glow. The black rim draws a crisp outline against a white or pale ceiling, which sits well in modern and industrial schemes, while the white face keeps the light soft and easy on the eyes. Fitting a few in a row along a corridor gives a tidy, even look.

The light is dimmable, so you can lower it for a calmer evening, and it has no switch of its own: it runs from your existing wall switch like any ceiling light.
