Description
The Gori EL Compact is a garden spike light that stakes directly into soil or a planted border to throw light upward across the ground above it. It runs two GU10 lamp positions, each taking up to 10W, with the PAR16 LED format giving a tight directional beam rather than broad ambient spread. Sold in the US as a landscape spike or pathway light, the twin-head arrangement lets you split the throw across two directions from a single staked body. It runs on 220-240V AC mains supply, so there is no separate low-voltage transformer to wire in.
Staked into beds, borders and planted edges, this fitting suits accenting shrubs, marking a path edge or grazing light up a low wall or fence panel. Because it is a directional spike rather than a room light, think of its reach in terms of beam throw across the planting it sits in rather than a floor area, and angle each head to land light where you want it. The IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and sheltered-rated, so it is well suited to covered or partly protected garden positions such as under eaves, a porch edge or a carport surround. Keep it clear of fully-exposed positions, direct hose jets and standing water, as the rating does not cover those conditions.
The body is aluminium alloy in an anthracite finish, a compact unit weighing 470g that sits low on its ground spike. The IP44 seal handles splashing and damp air in a sheltered spot, and the two GU10 caps make lamp swaps straightforward without specialist tools. Mounting is by the integral spike pushed into soft ground, with each head adjustable so you can aim the beams after siting. The Gori range includes further outdoor spike and ground fittings if you are lighting a larger scheme.

Frequently Asked
Is this garden spike light suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, within limits. The IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and suited to sheltered or covered outdoor spots such as a porch, carport surround or under eaves. It should not be used in fully-exposed positions, under direct water jets or where it could sit in standing water.
Are the light heads adjustable?
Yes. The two GU10 heads can be angled after the spike is sited, so you can aim each beam onto the planting, path edge or wall you want to pick out. This makes it easy to fine-tune the effect once the fitting is in the ground.
Does it need a transformer or driver?
No. The Gori EL Compact runs directly from a 220-240V AC mains supply, so there is no separate 12V transformer or driver to install. It connects to a standard mains feed run out to the spike position.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the anthracite body and lens with a soft damp cloth, switching the supply off first and letting the GU10 lamps cool. Avoid pressure washing or harsh solvents, and clear soil or leaf debris from around the heads so the beam stays clean and the seal is not compromised.
