The Ginvenne is a ceiling pendant with a wide, saucer-shaped shade of cream fabric cord, wound in tight, even rows and hung from a black steel canopy and lampholder on a slim black cord. The shade is 38cm across and the whole light is 110cm tall overall, so it has real presence over a table or in the middle of a room. It takes a single E27 bulb, the familiar large screw fitting, and the bulb is not included, which leaves the choice of warmth and brightness entirely with you. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

The opening at the base of the shade lets light fall towards a coffee table, a dining table or a kitchen island, while the open band of cord around the rim keeps the shade looking light and airy. The cream cord and black steel sit happily alongside natural wood, linen and pale walls, so it suits a living room, a dining room or a bedroom with a calm, relaxed feel. Hung in a pair or a row over a longer table, the wide shades make a neat, even line.
