Description
The Garto is a wall-mounted outdoor wall light that fixes to a house front, entrance or boundary wall and throws light both up and down the surface it sits on. It draws 8W and gives 300 lumens at 4000K, a neutral white tone that reads cleanly against render, brick and timber after dark. Sold in the US bracket as an outdoor wall sconce, its twin-direction beam grazes the wall above and below the fitting rather than spreading a wide flood, so it works as much for shape as for brightness. The compact rectangular body measures 115 by 30 by 90 mm and keeps a low profile against the façade.
Use it either side of a front door, along a covered passage, on a porch wall or beside a carport opening, where the up-and-down columns of light pick out the texture of the wall and mark the entrance. Because the beam is directional rather than ambient, judge it on the effect it creates and on spacing along a run rather than on a room-coverage figure: pairs or a rhythm of fittings along a wall give an even sequence of light scallops. The IP54 rating makes it splash-resistant and suited to sheltered, covered positions, so keep it clear of fully-exposed spots that take direct rain or water jets.
The housing is aluminium alloy in an anthracite finish, a robust choice for exterior duty, and the integrated LED is rated to 25,000 hours so there is no lamp to replace. It runs on 220 to 240V AC mains and is not dimmable. Mounting is to the wall via the rear bracket, with the fixed up and down apertures setting the beam direction once positioned. The Garto range carries further outdoor wall fittings in the same anthracite finish for matched entrances and elevations.

Frequently Asked
Can the Garto be used outdoors?
Yes, within sheltered positions. Its IP54 rating means it resists splashes and is suited to porches, covered passages, entrances and carport walls. Keep it out of fully-exposed spots that take direct rain or water jets, as IP54 does not cover those conditions.
What is the up-and-down light effect?
The fitting has fixed apertures top and bottom, so it casts two columns of light up and down the wall it is mounted on. This grazes the surface to highlight texture and frame an entrance, rather than spreading a broad flood across the area.
Does it take a replaceable bulb?
No. The Garto uses an integrated LED rated to 25,000 hours, so there is no separate lamp to fit or change. It delivers 300 lumens at 4000K neutral white and runs straight from 220 to 240V mains.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the anthracite aluminium housing with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry it off, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could mark the finish. Switch off at the supply first and check the fitting is cool. An occasional clean keeps the up and down apertures clear so the beam stays sharp.
