Description

A capsule lamp on the two pin G4 base, with a clear body and warm white light at 3000K. It draws 5W and gives around 500 lumens, spreading light widely rather than throwing it forward, which suits the small glass shades and open fittings these capsules usually live in. It runs on a low voltage supply, so it belongs in fittings with a transformer or driver behind them. Switching is simply on or off, as this is not a dimming lamp.

We sell most of these as replacements for the halogen capsules in glass pendants, small wall lights and multi-arm fittings, where the old lamp ran hot and gave up quickly. It is also a sensible choice for desk and picture lamps, display cabinets, and anywhere the lamp sits close to a shade or a lens. Because the body is clear it looks right where the capsule can be seen through glass, and in an enclosed or frosted fitting the same output simply reads softer.

The body is clear with a white base section, and the whole lamp is small enough to disappear into most holders. Handle it by the base rather than the body, and when the fitting is switched off and cool, a dry cloth is all it needs; nothing damp, no solvents. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the same size in cool white for kitchens and work areas, and a lower output capsule on the same base for fittings that hold several lamps at once, which makes it easy to match a whole chandelier or step the brightness down across it.
