Description

This G4 LED bulb is a small bi-pin capsule lamp that runs on 12V DC, drawing just 1.5W while putting out 100 lumens. In US terms it is a bi-pin capsule on the familiar two-pin base, a compact light source measuring only Ø10 by 35mm. It gives a warm white 3000K tone with a wide 300 degree spread, and replaces an 11W halogen capsule at a fraction of the power. Colour rendering is Ra 80, so colours read naturally.

Because it throws light over a wide 300 degree arc, this capsule suits desk lamps, accent fittings, display cabinets and the low-voltage spotlights and pendant fittings that take a G4 base. The warm 3000K tone keeps the light soft rather than clinical, which works well for evening and decorative use. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp location. The light is even and diffuse rather than tightly directional, making it a tidy swap for older halogen capsules.
