The Freida is a 500mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome frame that supports cascading strands of faceted crystal beads, each strand terminating in a hexagonal crystal drop. Six E14 bulb fittings sit inside a soft grey organza drum shade that wraps the entire assembly, diffusing the light through the fabric while allowing the crystal strands to remain visible beneath and below the shade.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms with standard 2.3-2.5m ceiling heights, the semi-flush mounting positions the fitting close to the ceiling with a total drop of 520mm from ceiling rose to the lowest crystal pendant. The 500mm diameter suits rooms of approximately 12-18m², providing ambient and decorative light without overwhelming smaller spaces or appearing undersized in larger ones. The grey organza softens the brightness from the six bulbs, preventing harsh shadows while the exposed crystal strands below the shade add decorative sparkle.

The Freida takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. For a warm ambient glow most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in 2700K-3000K. Use dimmable LED bulbs if you plan to install a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 520mm total drop suits standard UK ceiling heights of 2.3-2.5m. The semi-flush design positions the fitting close to the ceiling, leaving approximately 1.8-2m clearance below the lowest crystal drop, which works well in most residential rooms.

Is the organza shade removable?

The grey organza drum shade is a fixed part of the assembly and is not designed to be removed. The shade filters the light from the six bulbs and provides the soft diffused glow characteristic of this design.

How is the fitting secured?

At 3.4kg the Freida requires a ceiling rose fixed to a joist or solid ceiling structure rated to support the weight. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. If your ceiling rose is not rated for this weight, consult a qualified electrician before installation.
